Holloween Party Goodies
Our group of international friends gets together each year for a Halloween party (and a Christmas party, Easter dinner, Thanksgiving dinner, and sometimes New Year's Eve) with costumes, lots of laughs, and (of course) great food. These events are always pot-luck.
For the Halloween party, we traditionally stand around the kitchen talking, so the food is more finger-y and usually consists mostly of starters (and dessert...can't forget dessert).
This year (like most years), the Halloween party coincides with my daughter's birthday, so things are particularly busy. To lighten the pressure in the kitchen, I decided to try a crock-pot dish and found this Slow-cooker Chipotle-Black Bean Dip. A few minutes in the morning to prepare the ingredients, and then (just when it's getting busy in the kitchen) all I had to do was turn on the crock-pot.
The dip is quite yummy and nearly didn't make it out the door. It's easy to ramp up for a larger crowd, and the fact that it's in a crock-pot makes it an easy take-along.
